Solar Energy is basically converting the energy from the sun into electricity. This energy can be used to complement or substitute the provision by the National Grid. The sun, a free commodity from God will be collected through the use of photovoltaic modules, stored in batteries. Inverters are used to convert DC to AC current where necessary.
The National Grid has been the sole supplier of electricity in the country. The developed nations have had to complement their supplies with other sources to achieve uninterrupted power supplies. Nations that have very little supply have used solar as an alternative. The new energy reforms acknowledge the need for other players. Ghana and other African countries are using solar energy. The sun is free and we have in adequate supply.
